Monster in the Kitchen

Monster helped me cook dinner the other night. Well he actually prepared most of the food with little help. He got some really neat knives for Christmas from his Uncle and hasn't had a real chance to use them till now.

After he cut up the potatoes, he helped cut up the butter as well. He is weird about things on his fingers and he said the butter felt slippery.

This was his least favorite part... can you tell.

He said the seasoning smelled spicy. Which it was.

He also helped dip the chicken in the seasoning and lay it in the pan.

He is such a big helper these days!
You can find the knives which are KID SAFE! They will cut but not your skin. It's great for little hands.

Easter

We went back down to Houston for Easter! DH is in London for work so we figured we might as well go and spend Easter with my family. Even though we pretty much just got back!

L and her crazy hair on the trampoline! Poor kid kept saying "it won't stop!"

L and Monster playing in the water table from Step2.

Noah painting with water! I was trying to keep them entertained!

Monster riding around!

Getting ready to dye eggs!

All done!

Their Easter baskets!

Trying to get Monster to try a Jello egg. My mom makes them almost every year and he has had them before but he acts like he never has.... although I do think the last time he had one was right after he was a year old!

Made his harder to get to!

Playing with bubbles

It was such a fun Easter! I was also very excited that at lunch Monster was telling the younger kids what Easter was all about! Telling them that Jesus died for our sins and that he was put in a tomb but on the third day rose again and that was why we celebrated Easter! I was very happy to hear him sharing it even if they are too young to understand him now at least I know he understands why we celebrate!

Life right now.

We just got back from a week long trip to Houston. I went down to help my mom with my sisters twins while she went away for work. The twins are 3 years old now. They were so fun to play with this week. Monster really enjoyed his time at Granny-Ma's too!

They love their dome they got!

She is a mess!

My little brother is home from Afghanistan finally! So Monster got to see him and spend some fun times with him!

We made paper airplanes with a kit I bought from Alex Toys!

We also played in the water table one day! This table is from Step 2 and has lasted quite some time. We got it for Monster when he was 1 I believe. He is now 7 and the twins play with it too!

Monster driving his cousin around!

Just a swingin'

My favorite twins!

Just to let people know. I have figured out that my comments section was messed up. I had that awful captcha thing turned on and did not even know it! I hate those! So just letting everyone know I turned it off!

Now that we are back from Houston (we leave again the Friday before Easter to go back!) I am looking at ways to keep Monster busy until we get his new curriculum for 2nd grade. I bought a workbook that he is actually doing well with but he is a very hands on child. Does anyone out there have some fun ideas that we could use? Please let me know. I would love some fun craft ideas, spelling ideas and math ideas.
